From the ashes of 2015’s disbanded Velocio-SRAM team comes the newly formed Canyon//SRAM bike team complete with a team kit that is redefining fashion standards in the sport. Read on to see what I mean…
As most of you know, founded in 2004, Rapha set out on a quest to become the premier maker of the finest cycling clothing through the use of only the finest fabrics and optimized components. They have gone on to achieve this dream, supplying the kit for the new Canyon//SRAM ladies team.
Combining their already existing Pro Team collections, this kit is obviously a loud and proud collection that challenges all current conventions within the women’s cycling peloton fashion. The various upper body accoutrements are decorated with light blues, purples, reds, oranges and yellows, making them energetic and strong without classifying by gender.

At the time this new kit was launched and the first shots from the womens training camp in Mallorca went public, they immediately sparked interest amongst many of my cycling buddies. Not only do the colours help the team race in a competitive, fast mindset, the pieces themselves seem to fit very well.
Rapha even helped designing the team’s bikes so that everything matches to maximize the intimidation effect.
As I mentioned in the beginning, such a sponsorship with Rapha emerged out of the ending of one team and the beginning of a new. When the former team got disbanded, there must have been someone in the background working very hard to create a great new team causing excitement from three major players in the world of cycling – Rapha, SRAM and Canyon.
In short, it’s an exciting time for women’s racing as seen with the liveliness and ferocity found in Rapha’s latest design. One thing is for sure, this kit leaves more than smiles!
