Wow. Mallorca! Again… what a couple of special days we had! It is definately my favourite of islands! The view, the climate, the road surface and the lovely people…I love it! Everytime I go I feel I do not want to leave!
It is almost an annual event now to do the 70.3 Ironman in Alcudia in May. To me it was my 3rd participation, Hannah did it for the 4th time! The amounts of friends of us who do the very same event turns it almost into a home coming party. This time we shared our house with our dear friends Denise, Nina and Edward from South Africa, Austria and Holland. In addition we meet plenty of friends from home like our Lovelo, Chiltern Tri and Evoke Health Buddies (to name a few) !
The event was again well organised and the crows and “fans” created a magic athmosphere. As usual I struggled to run due to obvious resaons (I dont prepare for running as most of you know), but the bike was some solid hammer time I would say.
I dont have any race photos to hand for now but find below a selection of photos from our first day on the island where we spent quality tike on two wheels with our Capetonian powerhoue Douglas and his swedish friend Filip. Rounded up with some time in the water and a fantastic dinner in our favourite 6 euro restaurant!
Well done to my mate Barney Palmer for winning his age group , Kerri & Melinda for winning their relay, Hannah for top 10 in her age group and to Heather for securing a spot at the Age Group World Champs! You guys rock !
