From Wacaco, a 2013 startup based out of Hong Kong, comes the answer to any coffee lover’s worst dilemma – how do you get espresso when there’s no espresso machine around?
The answer is the Minipresso. Weighing in at a stunningly low 0.8 pounds and measuring out to be 6.89 inches, this tiny device is a hand powered machine that allows you to enjoy a delicious shot of espresso be it on the top of a mountain or in the middle of a bike ride. Perfect in its effortlessness, you don’t need to charge it, buy batteries or invest in N2O cartridges. Simply load up your espresso grounds, add water and use the hand pump to make yourself a delicious drink.
As it stands, customers are entirely satisfied with this little device’s ability and its price range. The espresso is delicious and takes but a few minutes to prep. Only about 1.5 shots can be made in a single go, so if you have additional people, you’ll need to work the machine a few more times. In addition, the water container holds a bit too much water, resulting in shots that are more watered down than the usual espresso shot, an issue that is easily fixed by not filling up the water container to full.
Apart from these slight notes, the Minipresso is a must-have for all coffee aficionados that don’t want to ever go a day without the sweet embrace of liquid caffeine.
