Have you heard of La Fabrica in Girona yet? This beautiful decorated café gains more and more popularity and recognition far outside the borders of the picturesque old town and even Catalunya. Obviously we had to stop by and give this cyclist’s hideaway that everyone is raving about a try.
Open until 3:00 pm, we popped in just before closing after a long ride. Being that late I expected a “rushed” treatment, but the opposite was the case. We were welcomed with warm and friendly smiles and enjoyed our short stay to the fullest outside in the afternoon sunshine.
From the moment you enter, you feel the character of this café, which is placed in an ancient building and discreetly decorated with cycle accessories. You will find a selection of home-made cakes that look (and taste) too yummy to resist and a lovely selection of tasty nibbles, like my Nutella croissant with banana slices.
The café was founded in 2015 by current Orica-GreenEDGE rider Christian Meier and his wife Amber. Christian actually made my flat white, which is kind of cool, having your coffee served by a Pro cyclist.

Below is a small collection of photos. I would have taken many more to capture the great time we had, but I was busy enjoying my croissant, drinking coffee and admiring some stunning bikes parked up outside…
